Learn how to configure DNS records with popular domain providers to connect your custom domain to your Revivus website.

What you’ll need:

  • Access to your domain registrar account
  • Your Revivus website subdomain (e.g., yoursite.revivus.app)

Troubleshooting

DNS Changes Not Taking Effect

  • Wait longer: DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours
  • Clear your DNS cache:
    • Mac: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
    • Windows: ipconfig /flushdns
    • Linux: sudo systemd-resolve --flush-caches
  • Check for typos: Verify your CNAME value matches your Revivus subdomain exactly

”This site can’t be reached” Error

  • Ensure the CNAME record is pointing to the correct Revivus subdomain
  • If using Cloudflare, make sure proxy is disabled (gray cloud)
  • Verify there are no conflicting A or AAAA records for the same hostname

SSL Certificate Issues

  • SSL certificates are automatically provisioned by Revivus
  • Allow 24-48 hours after DNS propagation for SSL to activate
  • If issues persist after 48 hours, contact Revivus support

Multiple DNS Records

  • Remove any duplicate CNAME records for the same hostname
  • You cannot have both a CNAME and A record for the same hostname
